Stop-Motion Animation
December 10, 2007
Anything can be animated through the process of stop-motion animation or photography. You basically take an image of an object, move the object a tiny bit, take another picture, and repeat the process. View all the images in quick succession and you'll have a movie. Remember the Gumby show? How about Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer? These were done via stop-motion animation.
My son and I decided to give it a try ourselves using plastic toy dinosaurs. I used my digital camera to take the images, and Microsoft Movie Maker to string them together into a video.

My son decided to do some stop motion animation for a school project. He used some of his toy dragons.
